Network Administrator

Location: 100% Onsite, GA

Job Description:

We are actively seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support our enterprise network environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, troubleshooting, and security, coupled with a proven ability to deliver solutions in high-pressure, mission-critical environments.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Experience:
  
  

  • Minimum of 10 years in network engineering or administration.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Systems hardware/software.

  • Familiarity with networking products from various vendors (switches, routers, firewalls).

• Certifications:
  
  

  • DoD 8140 Compliant with Security+ Certification (minimum requirement).

  • Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or Juniper JNCIA.

• Education:
  
  

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).

  • Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Administration and Support:

• Provide end-to-end network administration, development, deployment, and problem remediation.

• Monitor and address network issues promptly.

• Perform upgrades and routine network operations and maintenance (O&M).

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Support routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

Network Security:

• Design and implement secure network architectures.

• Manage information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and extend patches to designated sites.

• Conduct system security scans and remediation.

• Implement network security best practices, including ACLs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.

Network Automation and Scripting:

• Leverage network automation tools like Ansible and Python to optimize operations.

• Develop and modify scripts for configuration and monitoring tasks.

System Analysis and Enhancements:

• Analyze current network/server configurations and recommend enhancements for reliability and performance.

• Propose, design, test, and implement new network capabilities.

Documentation and Collaboration:

• Document network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Provide technical assistance to cross-functional teams and align with customer requirements.

Leadership and Reporting:

• Deliver regular status updates to leadership in both written and in-person formats.

• Oversee technical data development and maintenance, including rack elevations and installation guidelines.

Project Management:

• Plan and execute IT/network enhancements.

• Lead project work related to infrastructure improvements.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong understanding of Juniper networking devices and Junos OS.

• Experience with network security tools and best practices.

• Knowledge of IT service management principles.

• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and vendors.
